Ibéria Mill
The Ibéria Mill, opened in 2005, changed the history of the Municipality of Borá, which had previously been considered the smallest municipality in the State of São Paulo.
A few harvests down the line, and the Ibéria Mill has become established as an efficient producer of sugar and ethanol. Indeed, it boasts one of the best industrial efficiency indices of all the mills in this region. Part of the secret of the success of this Industrial Unit is due to the bold approach adopted by the Toledo Group, and its wide experience in this Sector. The Group already owned three Industrial Units in the Northeast Region of Brazil when it decided to invest in the South Central Region.
The Industrial Park Management operations at this Unit were placed in the hands of EngSugar, which provides Outsourcing Services that systematically monitor all the stages of the productive process in order to guarantee that the planned results are achieved. The project began even before the Industrial Unit was opened, as all the industrial installation work was coordinated by EngSugar.
The use of these Outsourcing Services to coordinate the installation work was made easier by the fact that all the basic studies (Fundamental Project), and the Detailed Engineering Project had been developed by EngSugar.
Another activity that was developed by EngSugar was the selection and training of the professionals involved in the productive process. This involved the application of the Behavioral Modules that were used to integrate the new recruits as well as the Technical Sugar and Ethanol Manufacturing Modules. At the time, a total of 125 Collaborators were trained.
Sonora Mill
 EngSugar’s relationship with the Sonora Mill began when we were invited to monitor the installation of the Sugar Manufacturing Unit in 1995. Up to that time Sonora had operated as just a distillery. Some “jobs” later, in 1998, the Mill’s Board invited us to install our Outsourcing Services in the Industrial Park. From then on, EngSugar has been responsible for managing and planning the industrial activities.
During these years, a number of actions have raised the Unit’s level of industrial efficiency, with the introduction of several technical improvements. These have been supported by the technological ingenuity of our team together with the cutting-edge technologies emerging in the sugar-ethanol sector, as well as the desire of the Industrial Unit’s Board to transform the mill into a regional benchmark.
Another important factor that has contributed to the Sonora Mill’s constant growth is related to the technical competence of its collaborators, with a number of Technical and Behavioral Training Courses being offered every year. The application of the Technical and Human Development Program (THD) has been very important in this context, since every year differentiated Technical and Behavioral Modules are applied. These have been developed to meet the requirements of a Company whose Professional Training Program has reached an advanced stage.
Usaçúcar Group
 Usaçúcar Group Located in the North of Paraná, the Usaçúcar Group owns four industrial units, which together process more than 5 million tonnes of sugar cane.
It is considered the largest Group in the State of Paraná.
Since 1997, the Group, through its Internal Auditing Department, has been using the EngSugar Consulting Services Division, which has, over these eight years, developed sectorial technical evaluations and technical diagnoses with the aim of checking the productivity and efficiency data, along with the operational procedures in each stage of the process to obtain sugar and ethanol.
All this work is undertaken with the main purpose of providing the unit’s management and technical staff with helpful information that can be used in future investment and maintenance plans for future harvests, and includes the possibility that suggestions made by the EngSugar technical staff may be used during the harvest that is being evaluated.
